Stress Effects on the Body

Posted By Diane

Stress is more dangerous than you may think, it can drastically impact the body negatively in many ways some of which are irreversible.

Let's face it sometimes we let life take over; High-demanding workdays, raising kids, late nights studying, trying to meet deadlines or ends meet.

Here are a few physical effects of stress on the human body:

Thinning Hair. Hair loss is one of the most common reactions we may experience which can be triggered by extreme anxiety or physiological stress.

Save your hair from falling by having meals rich in naturally-derived proteins daily to help reduce hair loss and promote new growth. If you want a quick fix for thickening hair, you may try a concentrated serum with active ingredients such as RF 80 and Biotin.

Wrinkles. Unconsciously you may be causing premature wrinkles to the face by creating facial expressions that are triggered by stressors.

A great and easy preventative way to age gracefully is to be mindful of your emotions and actions. Try to practice healthy habits like staying calm and breathing through stressful situations.

We can also choose to use products that can reduce deep wrinkles and fine lines by selecting a wrinkle corrector with Matrixy, serum or retinol.

Under-Eye Bags. Not getting sufficient sleep can cause more damage to the body beyond what we can see physically.

In the morning, you end up getting eye bags or dark circles under the eyes. Many studies state sleep deprivation can lead to higher risk of chronic health problems like high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.

Carry out a good bedtime plan by not checking your phone at night to help you relax and get at least 8 hours of sleep. You may also want to try using a nourishing eye cream with natural plant extracts and oils to reduce puffiness and dark circles.

Acne. Stress releases cortisol that cast off other hormones and causes breakouts.

Say goodbye to blemishes by meditating, reducing your sugar intake and eating more high-protein rich food. Get a clarifying cleanser to wash away blemish-causing bacteria if you are prone to acne

Dry Skin. Did you know that caffeine has adverse effects on the skin?

Coffee is highly acidic and a diuretic. Consuming high amounts of acidic caffeine can trigger stress hormones, which controls the skin's oil production. Moreover, because coffee is a diuretic consuming too much of it will cause the skin to be dry and flaky.

Get the proper hydration the skin needs by drinking enough water a day and eating the right foods with high water content like fruits and veggies. You may also want to consider using a refreshing gel moisturizer to hydrate your skin and prevent moisture loss.
