How to Have Good Hair Days this Winter

Posted By Diane

Winter is coming. Does this mean bad hair days will start haunting you too? The cold weather will surely bother and create various havocs on your locks. As the breeze becomes stronger, our hair needs extra care to prevent serious damages. So, how will you able to maintain healthy hair during winter?

We listed the must-follow tips below!

Do not wash your hair excessively. If you have long hair, try to wash it not more than twice a week to prevent moisture loss which can lead to dry and frizzy hair. Make sure not to leave the house with wet hair. Wrap and dry your hair faster using an ultra-absorbent towel without too much friction to minimize frizz.

Unreasonable exposure of the hair to heat styling tools can lead to hair damage. Do not over dry the hair, use a hair dryer that has a "cold air" function that will release cool air which helps seal the hair cuticle, add shine and set the final look for a long-lasting hold.

Look for natural ingredients in high-quality hair care products.
The list of ingredients below are the essentials you need to consider to help you achieve your #healthyhairgoals:
•  Aloe Vera: naturally moisturizes the hair to reduce itchiness on the scalp.
Butters: protect the hair against moisture loss. Shea butter and mango butter are perfect examples!
•  Natural Oils: fix and manage damaged hair. Coconut, jojoba and argan oil are some of our faves.
•  Protein: strengthens and repairs keratin. Consider a protein packed hydrating conditioner.

Avoid alcohol-based and silicone-based products. Alcohol is very drying. Silicone, on the other hand, creates the illusion of healthy, shiny hair while further drying out the hair from the inside.

Treat your hair with a hair mask once a week. During winter, keep in mind to put some moisture back into your hair to avoid breakage. A moisturizing masque with water-binding humectants and active botanicals can replenish damaged hair by keeping moisture in your locks!
