Have you already decided to put on a mask, play some music and relax over the weekend? Is the choice between a clay mask and a mud mask your only concern this weekend? No worries, we’ve got you covered! Read on…

Mud and clay masks are a great fix for your skin, both masks are made with natural ingredients that help rejuvenate your skin and, the best part is—you can easily treat yourself to a quick facial at the comfort of your own home.

The main difference between the mud mask and clay mask is—that mud works as a skin-healing agent, while the clay mask is a cosmetic that acts as a drying skin agent.

You can go for clay masks if you have oily skin, and if you are more prone to breakouts. But you can choose the mud masks if you have dry and dull skin, and your skin needs moisture. Yes, that simple.

Clay masks are a powerhouse of minerals, iron, magnesium, calcium, and potassium. Applying a clay mask will help absorb dirt and oil trapped in the pores, getting rid of greasy texture.

Mud masks are popular, as they are known to improve blood circulation under the skin, cleanse the skin of dirt and impurities, moisturize. Plus, it helps and refreshes and brightens your skin.

How to apply?

Mud masks should be applied to a clean and dry face. Simply spread a thin layer of the mud mask onto your face with your fingers and allow it to dry for around 25 minutes. Rinse with warm water and a soft washcloth to remove the mud. Use two to three times a week for best results. Clay masks should be applied to a clean and dry face and evenly distributed in a thin layer with fingers. Clay masks may need to dry up to 40 minutes, depending on the thickness of the mask. Bear in mind that because clay masks are not as gentle on the skin. Use it only once a week to avoid over-drying.
